Why Us

What Sets Our Visits Apart

Care starts with listening, so visits are built around the routines and preferences of the person receiving care. After a gentle visit at home, we design a care plan, match a companion who fits their personality and pace, and keep the family in the loop as needs change. Our help is non-medical, focused on daily life at home.

Curbside Trash Help in Van Meter

The City of Van Meter says residents who are elderly or disabled and have trouble getting trash to the curb can ask City Hall about pickup at a designated location, at no additional charge. Proof of disability or a doctor's request may be required, according to the city. Call City Hall to ask.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

No. The city says it does not require the licensing of pets. Rules on the number of pets and on animal control are in Chapter 55 of the city code of ordinances.

Up to six chickens, with no roosters, are allowed within city limits under Chapter 57, and registration with the city is required. City Hall can explain how to register.

Bulk items such as couches, chairs, and mattresses are picked up on Mondays with a $5 bulk-waste sticker sold at City Hall. Stickers do not cover appliances, which need separate arrangements with Waste Connections. Once the bulky items are gone, housekeeping help can keep the room tidy.

De Soto licenses dogs and cats each year at $5 for spayed or neutered pets and $15 for unaltered pets, with a current rabies certificate. A license renewed after January 31 is late. Call De Soto City Hall.
